Mr. Crum - Science
I am Richard Crum, 6th, 7th and 8th grade Science teacher.

I look forward to working with students at St. Augustine this year.

Recently, I taught Science at St. Charles Middle School. Before that, I taught in Michigan, Louisville, and Springfield. I started in the first grade at St. Augustine in September, 1952, and am returning to St. Augustine 62 years later!! I have been in a classroom for every one of those 62 years either as a student or a teacher.

During the year there will be many entries on this webpage concerning homework, projects, tests, reviews, competitions and much more!!

My approach to teaching is summed up in a quote from the late Vince Lombardi - "The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary".  I also believe that the teacher must engage the students and get them excited about the subject and their ability to excel in any area they might choose. My goal is to help your students reach their goals.

I was born in Denver, Colorado to Marie and Clark Crum. At age 5, we moved to a farm in NewMarket, Kentucky. I went through grade school and high school, then St. Catharine's College, UK and finally Michigan State. I returned to Kentucky in 1976 and have been here ever since with my wife, Mimi. Unfortunately, my hobbies are so many I have trouble keeping up with them.  They include amateur astronomy, golf, fossil hunting, American Indian study, and drag racing.
